Garden Hose Connectors

Despite their small size, garden hose connectors play a big part in any watering set-up. Often overlooked, garden hose fittings are needed whenever you want to connect a hose to a water source, extend hoses or add nozzles and sprinklers to your watering system.

Know your connectors

Simply put, watering connectors can be divided into three categories:

Tap connectors

Connect to the water tap.

Hose connectors

Connect hoses to the tap connector, nozzles, sprinklers, extensions and so on.

Extension connectors

Extension connectors are made for extending hoses.

First things first: tap connectors

Making the connection: garden hose connectors

No more missing links – garden hose fittings will perfectly connect your nozzles, sprinklers, tap connectors and hoses.

Keep in mind that your hose diameter determines what size your connector should be. Furthermore, most Fiskars connectors and hoses have colour coding, making it even more intuitive for you to choose the right hose connector size and type.

The four types of hose connectors

On/off connector

Features a switch that stops the water flow and eliminates the need to walk back and forth to the tap. Use it to easily reconnect a spray gun, sprinkler and other accessories to your hose.

On/off connector

Stop connector

Automatically stops water flow when the sprinkler,  nozzle or other hose ends are disconnected, so there’s no need turning off the tap. Connect it with nozzles, sprinklers and other accessories to manage a balanced flow.

Stop connector

Flow connector

Ensures a fast and easy connection between watering nozzles, wands, taps etc. Water usually needs to be turned off before switching the hose end.

Taking it further: extension connectors

An extension connector is a great idea when you need a bit more wiggle room. You can use an extension connector to join two hoses together, either to extend the range or divide your water supply to two hoses. An extension connector can also connect two different diameter hoses.

Which garden hose connectors do I need?

To sum it up, these garden hose fittings will get you off to a good start. You’ll need at least:

1. A tap connector to connect the hose to the tap.
2. Hose connectors to each end of the hose.
