
Caring tips for wooden kitchen utensils and knives
As wood is a living and organic material, natural variation for example in color, may occur and therefore every wood product is unique. Wood is a material that requires good care and maintenance to keep its best performance and condition.

Cleaning
- Clean the wooden product immediately after use.
- Wash your wooden product always by hand using plain warm soapy water or dishwashing liquid, then rinse it with water.
- Always dry the product with a cloth after washing to avoid cracking. Let it dry in an airy place, away from areas with standing water or a moist environment.
- Never clean your wooden products in a dishwasher. The high temperatures, humidity and strong detergents are harmful to wood and may cause cracking, bending and damage the product.
- Never soak or immerse your wooden product in water, either in the sink or on the kitchen counter. This kind of contact with water may bend, color and crack expand the wood.

Maintenance & storing
- Store your wooden products in a dry and airy place, away from direct sunshine.
- Wooden products can be oiled with food-safe oil occasionally to maintain the best condition. For instance, pure linseed oil or paraffin oil suits well.
- Especially cutting boards with heavy use can get knife marks, and the surface may get stained or rough. Wooden products can be polished with fine sandpaper, but should always be oiled after the treatment.
