Long lasting commitment to climate
Our tools inspire people to connect with nature, but our business also depends on a livable planet. That’s why we’ve made long-lasting commitments to climate action.
Climate action
We are committed to science-based emission reduction targets.
- We will reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from our own operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 60 per cent from the base year 2017.
- We will reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and distribution (Scope 3) by 30 per cent from the base year 2018.
All our factories and distribution centers (Billnäs, Sorsakoski, Slupsk, Hämeenlinna DC) use 100% renewable electricity. In addition, we have solar panels installed in our factory in Slupsk and our distribution center in Hämeenlinna. The Hämeenlinna distribution center is heated with its own geothermal power plant and has reached zero carbon emissions.
We are investing in our factories to reduce energy consumption.
All our factories have the ISO 14001 environmental management system certificate.
We test new materials to reduce the emissions of our products. Example: We use New Circle Green stainless steel produced by Outokumpu in our All Steel cookware products, which has 92% lower carbon footprint compared to industry average.
We train and encourage our suppliers to set stringent targets for their emissions.
- In terms of spend covering purchased goods and services, 60 per cent of our suppliers must have science-based targets by 2024.
- We are committed to reducing emissions along our value chain and supporting our suppliers in setting science-based targets.
- We support our suppliers by organizing info sessions and training, and over half of Fiskars’ suppliers have set science-based targets.
We have set a long-term net-zero climate target as part of Fiskars Group.
- We plan to reduce climate emissions in our operations and the whole value chain to net zero by the year 2049, which will also be the year Fiskars turns 400 years. This target has been submitted for SBTi’s approval.
- As part of Fiskars Group, we will now develop a roadmap beyond the short-term, and to reach net zero by 2049.
